Product Description
** NOTE ** While this edition is good value, there is a newer edition: The (Unofficial) Google Nexus 5 SmartPhone Book - Second Edition,
The Google-designed and LG-manufactured Nexus 5 is the first smartphone to run the Android 4.4 “KitKat” operating system.
If you’ve just bought a Nexus 5 smartphone, or you’re thinking about buying one, you should read this book. The ethos of the book is very much “What the Nexus 5 can do for you!”, and it’s an unofficial book because we have not colluded with the manufacturers (Google or LG) during the writing of the book...so we can say pretty much whatever we want. And if we say we like it, it’s because we really do. But we’re no “fan-boys”, and we don’t mind giving a warts ‘n’ all coverage where it’s warranted.
So whether you're so-far undecided, or have already purchased your Nexus 5...buy this book!

Clear, easy to follow, covered the important points

The title of the book says it all.
By Michael M. Turner
I gave it five stars because it is full of information that I never expected to exist. The book itself was typed on a Bluetooth keyboard using the Nexus 5 as though it were a computer (actually it is) and a HDMI adaptor to a TV screen using that as a monitor. Many of the other tricks also surprised me.
The one weakness was the "rush to publish". Given more thought and research, this book could have been outstanding. I have no hesitation to recommend it. If you have a kindle I suggest you download the PDF version. I understand the kindle reads PDFs and the kindle version is clumsy big time.

Fan Note to Author
By William B. Rodgers
hi,
I've just started working with your new N5 book and find it very useful, indeed.
And i don't even have any kind of smart phone, yet !!
But on reading your book, i will be making the plunge ASAP.
Meanwhile i continue to come from the Chromebook world where you are also my maven.
Your Chromebook books were terrific and version one of Nexus 5 also bodes well. Congrats !!!
(this N5 book may make you rich, this time, as you're clearly positioned to surf the N5 wave, which may be huge.)
BTW, there may yet be different kind of users out there than normally recognized. Ones, like me, who are primarily interested in Nexus phones not as phones but as small mobile highly portable tablets to interact with and sync with their Chromebooks and the Google Cloud ecosystem.
Question: can one do this without a SIM card and a cellular plan?.
Once i get up to speed on N5, i will be giving your latest book a fine user review on Amazon, etc. but i bought mine from the Google Play Store.
Thanks for being there, Tony. You are very good at what you do and i greatly appreciate your efforts.
