Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I've been using Intego Virus Barrier for years and I've been delighted with its performance. That said, this iteration - Internet Security 2013 - has been a total disaster. First, the critical backup SuperDuper! would fail at every attempt. After a few months and many complaints, Intego said they had resolved the issue. They did - as far as SupeDuper! was concerned. However, after using the software for less than a day, I found that I could not get Quicken Essentials to even come up. Crashed every time and this is another must have piece of software. I have to wonder just what else is not working right under the hood and I just wonder what some of the rave reviewers have been smoking.
With a MacBook Pro and two iMacs having to be updated and backed up every time I've tried to use Intego 2013, it has become a very tiresome piece of work. On the (possibly) plus side, the interface is very simple, maybe a little too simple. Intego Virus Barrier X6 has many more controls (which I like), works seamlessly, although it is a lot more complex than 2013 but you get to control every aspect.
My subscription runs out in about ten months. If Intego insists on going with this software, I'm moving on. There are at least four freebies out there such as ClamXav that work without a whole lot of heartburn and the Mac systems are not nearly as susceptible to viruses as Microsoft due the the sandboxing approach and other techniques that isolate operations and make it harder for malware to find their targets.
Strongly recommend using the trial and trouble shooting with each piece of software on your system. Mine is a fully up to date version of OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3 with everything else updated as well.

very easy to use

The software was highly recommended by a friend. The user interface is very easy to use. I have used Norton and I have just dumped Kaspersky as it used to too much resource and crashed and caused freezes.

Very user friendly

Easy to set up, automatic updates, fast scanning, well reviewed- all in all an excellent app at a good price.
